Gary Carter:The premier and most popular catcher of the late 1970s and early 1980s after Johnny Bench retired,Gary Carter (The Kid) was known for his ebullience, durability, clutch hitting (10 career grand slams), and handling of pitchers and balls in the dirt. He also established a reputation of being a great run producer, a rah-rah kind of leader, and a guy who wasn't afraid to voice his opinions.. He may have retired as a player in 1992, but The Kid can still talk a good game, both in the broadcasting booth and regarding his own Hall of Fame credentials. Gary also authored the book, The Dream Season. Currently a baseball broadcaster, Gary also is an entertaining speaker out of the booth, as he shares his thoughts and experiences on the game he loves so well. FULL BIO PAGE |
