Top 10 Education Keynote Speakers

Education has been a hot topic for Executive Speakers Bureau this year. We’ve been getting a lot of requests for education keynote speakers, and rightly so. These top education keynote speakers are the cream of the crop! We’re please to share this list with you again. Let us know if you’d like to check their availability.

We all know education is much more than learning in a classroom. The issues that face our education system are far and wide. Not everyone agrees on the best way to achieve optimum growth throughout our system. The research, the politics, the testing can all be sources of contention, which is why Executive Speakers Bureau has sought out the highest experts to help you understand and meet the issues head on. If you are looking for an education keynote speaker for your next conference, here is our Top 10 list of top education keynote speakers.

Dr. Adolph Brown

Dr. Adolph “Doc” Brown is an internationally recognized Real-World Business Leadership & Educational Excellence authority and master teacher, his humble beginnings and down-to-earth moniker allows him to do more than talk and communicate – Doc touches and connects. As a first generation high school graduate of a single parent mother reared in the poverty of housing projects, Doc has risen to international prominence as a much sought-after speaker for awakening youth/student groups, inspiring teachers/school administrators, revitalizing community colleges/universities, enlightening parents/child welfare organizations, encouraging faith groups, and motivating small businesses/large corporations. Adolph is a recognized Master Teacher who has mastered how to manage the classroom and accelerate, in virtually all students, their ability to read, write, speak, focus, organize information, and succeed academically – regardless of special learning challenges, learning style, or age.

Clayton Christensen

Clayton M. Christensen is the Kim B. Clark Professor of Business Administration at the Harvard Business School; and is regarded as one of the world’s top experts on innovation and growth. In 2000, Christensen founded Innosight, a consulting firm that uses his theories of innovation to help companies create new growth businesses. In 2007, he founded Rose Park Advisors, a firm that identifies and invests in disruptive companies. He is also the founder of Innosight Institute, a non-profit think tank whose mission is to apply his theories to vexing societal problems such as healthcare and education. Christensen believes that everyone across the education sector (K-12 through higher education) benefits from understanding why and how to apply disruptive innovation. From online learning to blended learning and hybrid models, Professor Christensen dissects the unprecedented opportunities of a more personalized approach to learning. He discusses not only how the transformation to a student-centric education system could play out, but what educators, policymakers and others must do to ensure it realizes its promise.

He is a widely respected and sought after as a speaker, presenter and moderator, and has gained a reputation for his vibrant and humorous approach. Currently a superintendent with the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, Peter Gamwell is an award-winning leader in education. His philosophy is simple: the health and prosperity of any organization is directly proportional to the value in, autonomy of and creative rein given to the people who make up that organization. Peter has spent a career inspiring people with this leadership philosophy and practice and, most recently, has led a ten-year transformational culture change through a 7,000-employee organization founded on this basic belief—an innovative change that is ongoing and dynamic. Drawing on his research in the field and his wealth of practical experience, Peter challenges his audiences to consider fundamental questions that will foster that positive growth, vibrancy and creativity in their organizations.

Angela Maiers

An educator for 30 years, Angela Maier’s work in 78,000 classrooms across 100 countries has rallied more than a million children who have banded together to launch 170 social enterprises and pass 17 laws. In 2011, she gave a TEDTalk on the power of two simple words: You Matter, and the video went viral. What resulted was the start of a movement which became the global non-profit organization, Choose2Matter. As its Founder, Angela’s mission is to help individuals recognize their value and potential contribution to change both their own lives and the world. Angela Maiers is considered one of today’s most influential thought leaders in education and transformative thinking. It is fair to say when she speaks, she leaves no room unchanged. She has been praised by leaders in business, the military, and administrators of schools of every level from elementary to graduate, around the globe for the life-changing, world-changing impact she has had on the hundreds of thousands of lives with whom she has reached with her message of Mattering.

Dr. Steve Perry

Dr. Steve Perry’s heart pumps passion and produces positive change. His career has taken him from directing a grassroots organization in Chester, PA to a full scholarship at the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Work, back to his hometown of Middletown where he ran a homeless shelter, became a candidate for state representative and published his first of four books…then he turned 26. Dr. Perry is in a hurry to transform the community. He was born into his family’s third generation of poverty on his mother’s 16th birth. He believes that the success of a life is determined by where you end, not where you start. It is this philosophy that inspired him to transform the lives of poor and minority children by providing them with access to a college education. In 1998 Dr. Steve Perry founded ConnCAP, the Connecticut Collegiate Awareness Program, at Capital Community College. The program sent 100% of its low-income first generation graduates to four-year colleges for six years. Then in 2004 Capital Prep was born and since its inception it too has sent 100% of its graduates to four year colleges for three consecutive years! Perry courageously forged a path into starting a public middle and high school in the state’s lowest performing district, Hartford. Today, Capital Prep has become one of the nation’s most successful public middle/high schools.

Dr. Shirley Raines

In January 2001, the board of regents of the University of Memphis elected Shirley Raines as the successor to President V. Lane Rawlins – the first woman to hold the position. Her term began on July 1, 2001, and continued until her retirement on June 30, 2013. Shirley inspires her audience using personal leadership lessons of how she went from a preschool teacher to a university president. She emphasizes that success requires key steps of being “dreamers, thinkers and doers” to make a difference in your personal life, family, community, and society.

Ashley Rhodes-Courter

Ashley RhodesCourter is the quintessential American success story.  Born in 1985 to a single teen mother, by the age of 3 she was in Florida’s foster care system where she spent almost ten years being shuttled between 14 homes—some quite abusive—before being adopted from a Children’s Home at the age of twelve. Despite her ordeal, she excelled in school because she believed that, “my education was the one thing nobody could take from me.”  Early in her life she felt compelled to advocate for herself and the other children she lived with, particularly in the abusive foster homes. In 2010, Ashley was selected to represent and mentor as part of Levi’s Shape What’s To Come campaign, an online, global community for women that offers opportunities to exchange ideas, collaborate, and provide support to one another. Her work with Levi’s was featured at the TED Women’s Conference in Washington, D.C. Recognizing that child welfare issues are universal, Ashley spent time in Europe, South Africa, and China studying child welfare and social policies. She serves on many national, local, and international boards for agencies and groups that work in the mental health, human rights, education, and social work fields.

Dr. Natalie Stavas

On April 15, 2013 Dr. Natalie Stavas approached the finish line of her fifth Boston marathon. Just blocks away she heard explosions, and she ran towards them. What led her to make that fateful decision to run into a terrorist attack? An expert on chaos, Natalie Stavas attacks every obstacle with the same attitude: “You run towards that which you fear, that which challenges you, that which is oppositional.” Running towards chaos actually makes chaos more manageable. After the bombings Dr. Stavas increased her efforts in preventing childhood violence and improving the health of urban communities. She is a mentor for Sole Train- a nonprofit organization guiding inner-city youth on a path towards their full potential through running. She is also the medical advisor for the Appalachian Mountain Club, helping improve the health of children by getting them outside. Dr. Natalie Stavas is currently a physician at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Trained and educated at Harvard University, Natalie’s area of experience is in childhood trauma, decreasing youth violence and researching how we can better protect and serve high-risk children.
