Today, Angela and Richard are tackling an important issue facing our industry and our world - the coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, and its effects on the speaking industry. We recognize the seriousness of this situation and want to help focus on the facts as it pertains to the speaking industry so the event professionals and keynote speakers are prepared and feel comfortable where they are in the event planning process. 

A few things we've seen:

1. Very few events are canceling outright due to the outbreak of coronavirus. Most events that have canceled or postponed are international events or events where the majority of attendees are international.
2. Speakers have maintained that their #1 commitment is to their clients, and so far have not expressed concern to us over attending, or speaking at events.
3. Although this may cause a small "blip" in our industry, overall, we still believe this will be a growing year for the speaking industry, as people are still calling continuously to book speakers. 
4. If our clients have concerns, we are willing to work with them on their contract negotiations and logistical issues (one of the many benefits working with a speakers bureau can add to your event).
