Be a Positive Disruptor: Better Leadership Starts With a Better You

Abraham Lincoln said, “If I had 8 hours to chop down a tree, I’d spend 6 hours sharpening my ax”. How much time do we spend, as leaders, “sharpening our ax”?

Too many leaders today feel a sense of being “out of control”. It’s difficult to keep up with demands, change, and pressures that today’s world stirs up. Many leaders feel they are in a reactive state all the time, without a chance to impact their agenda for success. Too many leaders live in a state of putting out fires, leading to frustration and loss of vision and purpose around what they want to accomplish. When this happens, it’s hard to get people to rally around initiatives and growth strategies that are needed for future success. Being out of balance as a leader is real and it causes frustration and lack of control, leading to more and more challenges.
Being selfish as a leader isn't always a bad thing. Sometimes, taking the time to ensure you are "centered" personally and are in control of things can help you when helping others reach new heights.
