Lis Wiehl is one of the nation’s most prominent trial lawyers and highly regarded commentators. Currently, she is the legal analyst on the Fox News Channel and Bill O’Reilly’s co-host and sparring partner on the weekly “Is It Legal?” segment on The O’Reilly Factor. Prior to that, she was O’Reilly’s co-host on the nationally syndicated show The Radio Factor. She is also a Professor of Law at New York Law School. A graduate of Harvard Law, Wiehl has never lost a case.
Prior to joining Fox News Channel, Wiehl served as a legal analyst for NBC News, NPR’s All Things Considered and KIRO-TV (CBS). Before that, she held the position of principal deputy chief minority investigative counsel for the US House of Representatives, Committee on Judiciary. Additionally, she served as an executive assistant at the US Attorney’s office. Wiehl was also a tenured professor of law at the University of Washington before coming to New York Law School.
Wiehl earned her Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School and her Master of Arts in Literature from the University of Queensland. She received her undergraduate degree from Barnard College.
Wiehl is also the author of Winning Every Time: How to Use the Skills of a Lawyer in the Trials of Your Life and The 51% Minority: How Women Still Are Not Equal and What You Can Do About It, which won the National Books for a Better Life Award in the Motivational Category. Wiehl’s new fiction book, Face of Betrayal, is the first of a four book series involving three strong female characters (a federal prosecutor, an FBI agent, and a TV reporter) who solve crimes.
