Michael Port Speaker Biography
Michael Port has written five bestselling books including Book Yourself Solid, Beyond Booked Solid, The Contrarian Effect, the New York Times Bestseller, The Think Big Manifesto, and, most recently, Book Yourself Solid ILLUSTRATED, an innovative and completely visual version of his seminal work, Book Yourself Solid.
The Boston Globe called him, “An uncommonly honest author.” The Wall Street Journal called him a, “Marketing guru.” Canada’s Globe and Mail said, “The world needs more Michael Port.” He admits, as much as he focuses on results for the people he serves, rather than approval, this kind of recognition is really cool for a guy who was a C+ student in high school. He’s thankful to receive it.
He’s blogged for the Huffington Post and has written monthly columns on sales and marketing for Entrepreneur Magazine and American Express Open Forum. He is a regular guest on MSNBC and has been on PBS multiples times along with CNBC.
He runs the Book Yourself Solid Mentoring Program serving business owners from all over the world and The Book Yourself Solid School of Training, which certifies consultants in the Book Yourself Solid methodology.
Currently, he is developing marketing and productivity software programs based on the ideas and strategies in his books.
He didn’t start out as an author, speaker, and entrepreneur. He began as an actor. No kidding. You might have been able to pick him out of a crowd from his starring and supporting roles in TV and film projects like Sex and the City, Third Watch, All My Children, Guiding Light, Central Park West, 100 Centre Street, The Pelican Brief, Down to Earth, Last Call, The Believer, and more.
More important than just work, is how one lives their entire life. Michael Port blends his yoga teaching past with his martial art present—holding the rank of black belt in Aikido and blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He has achieved his lifelong dream of spending most of his time on the water. He’s a United States Coast Guard Licensed OUPV Captain and, if the temperature is above 45 degrees, you’re likely to find him on his boat cruising the Chesapeake Bay. He’s got it tricked out with cell and wifi boosters so he can lead webinars, do videos and the like, as clearly as if he were sitting in the same room.
However, his most significant accomplishment and responsibility is probably just like yours, the job of being a devoted parent, son, friend, and citizen.
