Jimmy Dykes Speaker Biography

Jimmy Dykes is entering his 20th season as a college basketball analyst for ESPN and the SEC Network. Dykes joined ESPN at the start of the 1995-96 men’s college basketball season as a game and studio analyst. Over the course of his broadcasting career, he has been the lead analyst for SEC Super Tuesday games on ESPN, ABC’s coverage of the men’s SEC Tournament, and has had a major presence across the country in several early season tournaments such as the Maui Invitational, The ACC/Big Ten Challenge, The SEC/Big East Challenge, The SEC/Big12 Challenge, and is a consistent presence on all ESPN platforms covering The SEC men’s basketball season.

He is the author of the book titled, “The Game Film Doesn’t Lie” scheduled for release in 2018. Dykes is a highly sought after motivational speaker for companies, organizations, sports teams, and faith based groups across the country. Known for his authentic style, unflinching attitude toward doing what is right, Jimmy possesses a unique ability to relate to people from all walks of life.

Before making the transition to ESPN, Dykes served as an assistant men’s basketball coach at the University of Arkansas, the University of Kentucky, and Oklahoma State University to name a few. He also served as a college scout for the NBA Seattle Sonics franchise for three seasons.

Dykes was a college football sideline reporter for ESPN for four seasons from 2004-2008.

From 2014-2017, Jimmy Dykes was the Head women’s basketball coach at his alma mater the University of Arkansas. His overall record was 43-49, leading the Razorback program to their opening round win in the 2015 NCAA Tournament.

In 2001, Dykes was named as one of People Magazine’s “America’s Top 50 Bachelors” list.

He now resides in Springdale, Arkansas with his wife Tiffany and daughter Kennedy.
