Justin Robbins Speaker Biography
Justin Robbins helps leaders reclaim the rhythm of work. As founder and principal analyst of Metric Sherpa, an independent insight lab focused on work design and employee experience, he studies the gap between what organizations say they value and what people experience day to day. That gap explains disengagement, attrition, and inconsistent customer experience better than any engagement score does, and closing it deliberately is the subject of his work.
Justin advanced through contact center and customer service operations, then built training and coaching programs as a learning and development leader. He began speaking professionally in the late 2000s, spent years as a speaker and educator for a global events and media company, and served as Chief Evangelist and executive coach at several technology companies. He founded Metric Sherpa in 2021.
His research at Metric Sherpa examines work design and the intersection of technology and humanity in how people work and how customers get served. He published More Than A Motto in March 2026 and speaks internationally to audiences across customer experience, employee experience, and operations. Justin is a percussionist, and he performs live on stage to make an abstract idea physical: every workplace keeps a rhythm, and people learn the one leaders repeat rather than the one leaders announce. Audiences leave with a framework they teach to their own teams, language for the tension they already feel, and one practice they commit to repeating.

More Than a Motto: How to Reconnect with Purpose and Elevate Your Work
You want to feel grounded, driven, and confident in how you show up at work. The pressure and pace of the day chip away at your energy in ways you never intended. The spark fades quietly. Work shifts from meaningful to mechanical. You start managing the day instead of shaping it.
In this session, Justin Robbins gives you a reset rooted in clarity, rhythm, and action. Blending original research, story, and live percussion, he turns rhythm into a vivid, interactive metaphor for how work either drains people or drives them. He breaks down why motivation erodes even when you care deeply, and shows you how to rebuild a workday that supports focus, intention, and real momentum.
You walk out with concrete tools to strengthen how you operate:
- A sharper lens to spot where your current rhythm of work works against you.
- A clear set of practical tools you can use immediately in meetings, communication, and decision-making.
- A simple, repeatable rhythm you can use to align your time, energy, and attention with what you value.
Whether you lead others or lead yourself, you leave with a way to reclaim your workday, reconnect with purpose, and elevate the impact you deliver.
WORKSHOP 1 · HALF-DAY KEYNOTE ADD-ON
RHYTHM in Motion
Turn the reset from More Than a Motto into a rhythm your whole team runs, starting the same day.
Format: Half-day workshop, 3 to 4 hours. Delivered as a direct extension of the keynote or as a standalone half day.
More Than a Motto names the moment work stops feeling like yours: the spark fades, meaningful work turns mechanical, and you spend the day managing your calendar when you meant to shape your impact. The keynote gives you the lens to see that shift in your own work. RHYTHM in Motion turns that same lens on your team, then hands you the tools to change what your team does next.
Who it’s for: Leaders and people managers who experienced More Than a Motto and want to act on it immediately, or leadership teams bringing Justin in for a half day built directly on the keynote’s ideas.
What you’ll experience: Working through three stages of the RHYTHM model (Resolve What Matters, Hold the Line, and Make It Repeat), each participant identifies one real friction point already draining their team’s rhythm, decides what they will protect the next time a deadline or a difficult customer tests that priority, and builds a repeatable check-in that keeps the shift alive past the first week.
What you’ll walk away with: A leadership team that has moved from seeing its own drained rhythm to building a system that protects a better one, with a repeatable practice that keeps the change alive after the keynote’s energy fades
WORKSHOP 2 · ONE-DAY EXECUTIVE SESSION
Promise to Practice
Close the gap between what your organization promises and what it actually delivers.
Format: Full-day executive workshop. Best for senior leadership teams and executive offsites.
Every organization promises something to its customers and its employees. Then pressure hits the daily operation, and the promise starts to break.
The cost shows up in customer churn, employee attrition, and eroding trust, because nobody designed the daily operation to keep the promise leaders made in the boardroom.
Who it’s for: Senior executives and leadership teams who own the gap between what their organization says and what it does day to day.
What you’ll experience: Executives work through four stages of the RHYTHM model: Resolve What Matters, Hold the
Line, Hear the System, and Make It Repeat. Participants map the exact point where their organization’s promise and its daily practice have already split, argue through the real trade-offs required to close that gap, and leave with a decision framework the leadership team can run without another workshop.
What you’ll walk away with: A leadership team that can point to the specific place its promise breaks down, has already decided what it will protect the next time speed and quality compete for the same resource, and has a system for hearing operational truth before it turns into a customer complaint or an exit interview
WORKSHOP 3 · THREE-DAY MANAGER LAB
The RHYTHM Manager Lab
Give every manager a working system for the rhythm they already set, whether they know it or not.
Format: Three-day intensive. Best for people manager cohorts and leadership development programs.
People managers set the rhythm of their team whether they mean to or not. Every deadline they let slide, every question they answer honestly or dodge, and every piece of recognition they give or skip teaches their team how to behave. Many managers never learned that this is the job, and the cost lands in turnover, disengagement, and inconsistent customer experience.
Who it’s for: People managers responsible for the daily performance and morale of a team, and the organizations investing in their development.
What you’ll experience: Managers work through all six stages of the RHYTHM model across three days of increasing complexity. Day one covers Resolve What Matters and Hold the Line: managers cut their team’s priority list to the truth and decide what they will defend under pressure. Day two covers You Belong Here and Tempo the Work: managers design how people know they matter and set a pace their team can sustain without burning out or coasting. Day three covers Hear the System and Make It Repeat: managers build a listening practice that surfaces problems early, then apply everything to a capstone built against their own team.
What you’ll walk away with: Managers who can run a complete rhythm-setting practice with their team, diagnose which part of that practice breaks down when performance or morale slips, and carry a 30/60/90-day plan they built during the lab itself.
OFFERING 4 · CUSTOM ADVISORY
Workplace Rhythm Advisory
Rebuild the daily decisions that keep your team from acting on what you already know.
Format: Custom advisory engagement. Length and structure fit the organization’s operating reality.
A workshop teaches a room a new idea. Rebuilding the daily decisions, incentives, and habits that keep an operation
from acting on that idea takes ongoing work inside the operation itself, with someone who names what is broken and stays accountable for the fix.
Who it’s for: Leadership teams and CX, EX, or operations leaders who have already tried training and still see the same gaps between what they intend and what their teams actually do.
What you’ll experience: Justin and his team work directly with the leadership team in an ongoing advisory relationship.
The engagement starts with a real diagnosis of how the organization currently sets priority, pace, and feedback, using the RHYTHM model when it fits the operation and a custom framework when it does not. From there, Justin advises the team through implementation, reviewing decisions, challenging easy answers, and holding the team accountable to the practice it committed to build.
What you’ll walk away with: A working rhythm engineered directly from the organization’s own decisions and constraints, with an advisor who stays engaged through the full implementation.
