Jack Kalvan Speaker Biography
Jack Kalvan earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and left a job at IBM Research to pursue a career of throwing stuff in the air and making people laugh. For over 30 years, he has delighted audiences around the world, and become “Hollywood’s favorite juggler”, with his skills being featured on numerous commercials and TV shows.
TV appearances include: America’s Got Talent, Conan, The Ellen Degeneres Show, NCIS, Anger Management, The Drew Carey Show, General Hospital, Days of our Lives, and many more. Movie credits include: Alice in Wonderland, Water for Elephants, and Coyote Ugly. Commercials include: Capital One, Renaissance Hotels, Ford, Wendy’s, Humera, and many more.
Jack has won three gold medals from the International Jugglers' Association, and even held some world records. He has performed more than 3,000 shows in over 200 cities around the world. Notable performances include: the White House in Washington, DC, the Wintergarten in Berlin, the LA Opera, numerous corporate events, cruise ships (over 200 cruises), fairs, and casinos, Jack Kalvan has done it all.
Known for his skill and creative innovation, Cirque du Soleil has enlisted Jack’s help to develop new acts for their shows. In 2006, Jack co-created and produced the Extreme Juggling Competition, to help promote the creativity and excitement of juggling.
In 2018, Jack published his first book, “When Balls Collide: Understanding the Skill of Juggling”. His research was also featured by Wired Magazine.
Jack continues to push the envelope, inventing new tricks, and trying to give the public something they've never seen before. Jack now performs with his wife Jeri and their sons Max & Oz as the L.A. Jugglers and The Pot Squad, The World’s Only Flowerpot Drill Team.
When he’s not practicing or performing, he enjoys fixing up his house, being a dad, thinking about philosophy, playing frisbee, and building robots. Jack Kalvan is based in Los Angeles.
