Matt Iseman Speaker Biography

Emmy-winning TV host, comedian, physician, and cancer survivor Matt Iseman is beloved for his energetic, charismatic style and empowering message of overcoming obstacles. When Matt quit medicine to pursue stand-up comedy, his dad – a world-renowned physician – gave him the advice that still guides him today: “Life is short, do what makes you happy.” Renowned as the host of the four-time Emmy-nominated American Ninja Warrior, Matt combines his winning sense of humor, unique experience, and perspective as a doctor-turned-comic to deliver high-impact events. He shared his medical expertise and health and wellness insights on Hallmark’s Home & Family, won an Emmy for his hosting on Style’s Clean House, has hosted numerous live specials including The Macy’s 4th of July Special for NBC and Evel Live for History Channel and can be seen frequently as the in-house game show host for The Kelly Clarkson Show. Matt talks ninjas, tells jokes around the world and, in general, proves laughter is the best medicine.

Matt shares his inspiring story of battling Renal Cell Carcinoma and has become a spokesperson for the American Cancer Society. His ongoing battle with Rheumatoid Arthritis transformed him into a strong supporter of the Arthritis Foundation – for his work over the past decade and a half, Matt was named the 2018 “Arthritis Warrior of the Year.” Matt also supports the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and serves as an Ambassador for the Armed Services Arts Partnership. Sought after for events of all kinds, he is an in-demand speaker for both medical and business events including Texas Children’s Cancer Center, Feather River Hospital, Edwards Lifesciences, and CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, who raved: “Matt was fantastic! The audience really enjoyed his talk and he created the type of buzz we were looking for! He was also a pleasure to work with very energetic, kind, personable, and relatable. He hit all of the emotions, which was great!” His dynamic remarks cover everything from battling cancer, to overcoming obstacles, to the paramount importance of following your dreams.

When Life Gives You Cancer... Make Cancerade

Doctor-turned-comedian Matt Iseman had life with a chronic disease under control. Rheumatoid Arthritis couldn’t keep him from touring the country as a stand up and winning an Emmy as a host of a home makeover show. Then, his health issues had a sequel... cancer. Matt tells the emotional story of dealing with the Big C, never losing his sense of humor while being reminded that the advice his Dad gave him when he left medicine was absolutely true: Life is short, so do what makes you happy.

Rheumatoid Arthritis: RA and Lessons From Ninja Warrior

Matt talks about his journey from Doctor to stand up comedian and the chronic disease that put him on the other side of the stethoscope and caused his body and his life to crumble around him. Being diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis gave Matt the answer as to what was causing his health issues. It also taught him that, like every athlete on American Ninja Warrior, we all face obstacles on the course and in life. Matt shares the lessons he’s learned from life and the ninjas.

Follow Your Dreams

Not many people would walk away from a career as a doctor to pursue a dream of being a stand up comedian. But, Doctor Matt Iseman did just that. He tells his story and the lessons he’s learned to inspire others that, no matter what you’re doing now, you can always pursue your dreams.

How to Become a Ninja Warrior... an Everyman’s Guide

As the host of the three-time Emmy Nominated American Ninja Warrior, Matt Iseman has seen firsthand the power of the show to inspire everyday people to transform their bodies and their lives to pursue an almost impossible goal. Matt shares lessons for anyone looking to make changes in their lives and become a Ninja Warrior in whatever they do.

Matt Iseman: Emcee and Host for Your Next Event

Matt Iseman is a household favorite for the entertainment and enthusiasm he brings as host of American Ninja Warrior, and he can bring that same energy as the host of your event. Matt is a fantastic choice for virtual or in-person fundraisers and 'friendraisers,' and delights hosts and audiences every time.
