Michael A. Youssef Speaker Biography
Michael A. Youssef, Ph.D., is a cultural anthropologist, bestselling author, and internationally respected Bible teacher who brings more than 50 years of insight to the global stage. Born in Egypt under socialist and Islamist systems, Dr. Youssef witnessed firsthand the realities of spiritual and political darkness. He later lived in Lebanon and Australia before immigrating to the United States, fulfilling a childhood dream by becoming a naturalized American citizen in 1984. This unique personal history fuels his distinct perspective on Middle Eastern geopolitics and current events in the West.
An accomplished scholar, Dr. Youssef holds multiple theological degrees from Moore Theological College and Fuller Theological Seminary, as well as a Ph.D. in cultural anthropology from Emory University. A prolific writer, he has authored more than 50 books, including popular titles Saving Christianity?, How to Read the Bible, Is the End Near?, Heaven Awaits, Hope for This Present Crisis, and An Unholy Alliance: How Progressivism Brought about an Islamist Invasion.
Dr. Youssef is the Founder and President of Leading The Way with Dr. Michael Youssef (LTW.org), a worldwide media ministry that leverages cutting-edge technology and on-the-ground Field Teams to impact lives for Christ worldwide. His Biblically-based programs are available in 28 languages and broadcast more than 18,000 times per week, reaching audiences across six continents. Dr. Youssef is also the founder of AWAKE America (AWAKEAmerica.com), a nationwide prayer campaign mobilizing Christians for the next Great Spiritual Awakening in America. Behind each book, article, and message is a pastor’s heart, shaped by 39 years of pastoring The Church of The Apostles in Atlanta, where he is now the Founding Rector. He and his wife reside in Atlanta and have four grown children and 15 grandchildren.
