Rosalind Kainyah’s Speaker Biography
Rosalind Kainyah MBE is a leading authority on corporate Sustainability and ESG, recognised internationally for her practical, business-focused approach to helping companies operate responsibly, competitively, and with long-term value. With more than 30 years of combined experience across international law, senior executive roles, and board leadership, she is a trusted advisor to global business leaders navigating the evolving sustainability landscape.
Rosalind has worked with companies and on projects across Africa, the Middle East, Europe, North & South America and Asia, advising multinational companies, SMEs, investors, DFIs, and governments on environmental management, social impact, governance standards, and political risk. Her cross-sector experience spans energy, extractives, manufacturing, consumer goods, agriculture, financial services, and healthcare, including advisory work for organisations such as British International Investment and Mitsui.
She is an experienced Non-Executive Director, serving on the boards of discoverIE plc, Gem Diamonds Limited, WE Soda Ltd, EnQuest plc, and Flamingo Group International Ltd. Her previous board roles include Aker Energy, Lekela Power, BTE Renewables, CalBank plc and TheBoardroom Africa, where she also serves as a Faculty Member for its ESG Certificate Programme. She is Vice Chair of the Africa Gifted Foundation.
Before establishing her advisory firm, Kina Advisory Limited, in 2013, Rosalind held senior roles with Tullow Oil, De Beers, Linklaters, Environmental Resources Management (ERM), Anglo American, and the UN Environment Programme. She is a member of the Bar of England & Wales.
Rosalind’s work is characterised by her deep understanding of emerging markets, and her ability to translate global sustainability expectations into practical, commercially relevant actions for industry. She is widely recognised for bridging corporate strategy with responsible business practices that create impact, resilience, and long-term value.
