Sasha Larkin Speaker Biography

Sasha Larkin is the Director of Intelligence and C4 Operations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. For the first time ever, the World Cup will be hosted by three different countries and span 16 different cities.

Sasha is a recognized and honored speaker who has presented all around the world in topics ranging from leadership development, homeland security issues and topics, community building and refugee integration all the way to human trafficking and mass casualty events.

Sasha retired as an Assistant Sheriff with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, where she served for over twenty-five years. Sasha oversaw two Divisions: Homeland Security and Investigative Services. She was also the Intelligence Commander for Major County Sheriff’s Association and represented the LVMPD in national conferences on issues related to crime, terrorism, and prevention efforts. Sasha also sat on the Office of Director National Intelligence Board and the Joint Counterterrorism Assessment Team in Washington DC on behalf of the Sheriff to ensure proactive messaging for the LVMPD in the prevention and recognition of domestic and international terrorism.

Recognized for her work in community engagement, Sasha was integral in building the Office of Community Engagement (OCE) and the Fusion Liaison Officer Program. These two offices have reached thousands of people from all cultural, religious, and minority communities that would have never otherwise had a voice with the police. She was the Chair of Women of Metro, an outreach organization that mentors women internally for promotion in law enforcement and hosts a variety of community events.

Sasha also spoke on behalf of the LVMPD all over the world for such prestigious groups as the Naval Postgraduate School, Police Executive Research Forum, Safe Cities Network, and US State Department. Her mission was, and still is, to help build programs that support the prevention of terrorism and crime, how to build bridges of trust with the community and prevent a sense of isolation, and ensure the police are integrated throughout the community they serve.

Sasha has been honored by numerous community organizations for her work in terrorism, law enforcement and community building efforts. In 2016 she was recognized by the Anti-defamation League as the recipient of the “Shield Award” for building one of the largest, most successful Terrorism Liaison Officer Programs in the country, along with one of the leading refugee integration programs nationwide. Sasha has also been honored with the Community Service Award by Girl Scouts of America and Top Cops in Washington D.C.

Sasha attended the University of New Mexico, majoring in Biological Anthropology and Criminal Justice, receiving her bachelor’s degree, and graduated Executive Leaders Program at the Naval Post Graduate School in 2021. In addition to her day job, Sasha has been teaching yoga for twenty-three years and travels around the world to teach and train various yoga disciplines. Her most significant outside accomplishment is being the proud mother of a little boy and adorable twin girls, and wife to a spectacular husband.

We can no longer arrest our way out of problems: Building Communities of Trust to Prevent Radicalization
Whether she's delivering a keynote address or a multiday workshop, Deputy Chief Sasha Larkin makes a compelling case for change. Using social identity theory as a launching pad, Sasha will cover how community building helps us cross the cultural divide and join forces to stop violent extremism before it happens. Particular focuses include the integration of refugees, religious establishment target hardening, human trafficking, and the role of women in community building.

This customizable program includes the following areas of focus:

Fusion Liaison Officer Program:
-For Executives; FLO development
-For Officers: FLO adoption

Community Policing
-For Executives; Best practices, program development, and implementation for religious integration, domestic violence prevention, and fighting crime/closing the loop.
-For Officers: Identiying the needs in your community and developing programs to enhance communication and provide resources for those most at-risk.

Deputy Chief Sasha Larkin, a 22-year veteran of Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department teaches first responders a proactive approach that addresses people before they enter the crime-cycle, while they are in the system, and after they rejoin their community. She shares the story of how a drug dealer on the run led to the development of one of the most robust community policing efforts in the US. She also advocates programs that foster community resiliency because she has seen first-hand that pain will either go towards anger or healing. In fact, she and her team developed and implemented a Fusion Liaison Officer program that is now being modeled around the US.

After hearing her program, police executives are heard saying they have to implement these programs in their jurisdictions. On a personal note, Sasha also teaches yoga classes, in part to decompress from the chaos of life with her son and twin girls!
