Alex Kip Speaker Biography

Alex Kip, a budding Broadway star, lost his singing voice to cancer with only a 15-30% chance of survival at 20 years old. Now in complete remission, with his voice restored, Alex has given inspirational keynotes to UnitedHealthcare, Abington Jefferson Health, University of Michigan, Wanderlust, UN Culture of Peace, and more.

Alex’s play, My Other Voice, chronicling his cancer journey was named “Best of the Best” by the Detroit Free press, featured in PBS, NPR, and NBC. He’s been named a “Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Hero” and his inspiring writing has appeared in Huffington Post, Addicted2Success, and Lifehack.

As the creator of the top-rated iTunes podcast, SoulFeed, his spiritual talks have been downloaded over 1 million times in all U.S. States and 130+ countries while topping the charts in self-help and health. He has also appeared in major motion picture films (Marvel), TV (NBC, Syfy, Comedy Central, Spike TV), and theatrical performances across the country.

*Each keynote is customized or created based on the client’s needs.

Patient Power

In this keynote, Alex shares his experience as a young adult cancer patient in a deeply moving and inspiring way.  He offers corporations insight on how to effectively communicate and engage with their consumers while encouraging everyone to find their own power.  Corporations like UnitedHealthcare have already implemented his ideas and thoughts on kindness towards patients.  He also offers insight to patients on how to be a healthcare consumer.

Community In Art

Alex tells the story about how his play MY OTHER VOICE made it from the hospital room to the stage.  He stresses the importance of community engagement and the role that the arts play in deepening those ties.  Using real testimonies from medical students, physicians, and doctors who saw his show, he’s able to prove that the arts can heal and teach in ways that no other form can.

Moving Forward

Alex shares practical strategies and tips on how to recover from a life-altering diagnosis.  By combining scientific research based on his own experience he can create a compelling argument that, “the way we look at the world is the way we see the world.”  In the end, it is our choice.

Young Adult Navigation

Cancer is the number one disease killer of young adults today.  Too often, this statistic is overlooked and Alex hopes to empower young adults everywhere.  By shedding light on this epidemic, he exposes many of the reasons why and what can be done to change it.

Your Health Matters

Alex uses his story of survival to illustrate the importance of taking care of your body so that it takes care of you.  He tells the story of how he rode 100 miles after six rounds of chemotherapy and how he transformed his eating habits, proving that anyone can develop a healthy lifestyle.  As a certified personal trainer, he leaves the audience with practical tips that can be implemented right away.

“Alex Kip is the epitome of courage. In the face of having his Broadway dreams destroyed, he adapted to his new reality and turned it into a way to evolve and reinvent himself as a person and as an artist. It can be easy to give up and become a victim of circumstance. It is not easy to confront and surmount obstacles that get in the way of your dreams. Yet, that’s what Alex has done. Alex’s story is not unlike many we encounter all of the time in our Health System. Day in and day out, we engage with people who are dealing with scary and stressful life-altering and life-threatening situations. Let’s be honest – we deliver a lot of bad news. But, more often than not, in the face of that bad news and the journey that follows, we are privileged to witness and experience transformational moments of strength, survival and courage. Nothing is more inspiring.”
