Allan James Moore is a safety and motivational keynote speaker like no other. A storyteller and career keynote speaker, Moore got his start doing open mics at comedy clubs. He would go on to lead one of the most unique, off-beat careers imaginable, including being an exotic dancer, a professional soccer player, a Mandarin interpreter and translator, a kindergarten teacher and even a hand model among other unique experiences and occupations. He holds a Master of Arts in Leadership degree and has travelled to over fifty countries and worked on four different continents, managing diverse workforces in both English and Mandarin, and has held leadership positions in safety for more than twenty years at Fortune 500 companies such as Stanley Black and Decker and Wood Group.
How to Tame your Elephant!: Safety Lessons From Stampeding Elephants
Planning ahead can only go so far and if your team thinks they’ll respond “perfectly” in the face of real danger, Allan James Moore has stories that come all the way from Africa that might surprise you. How we react in the face of risk can say a lot about our confidence in safety know-how, as well as our trust in those we work alongside.
Capitalizing on his background in standup comedy to give an interactive, on-the-edge-of-your-seat session, Allan will provide tools and insights that will help you and your team know how (and when!) to confidently speak up when things on the jobsite don’t feel right. If jobsite safety feels a little wild to your team, this session is one you can’t miss!
Communication for Safety: Understanding and Being Understood!
Trying to hammer home the core tenets of safety regulation to a team whose biggest concern is getting a job done fast could grind any level of respect for safety to a halt. Although handing out commands and work citations may feel like the only way to communicate the importance of safety, the impact is more like throwing a stick of dynamite down a mining shaft.
Proven data shows that strong communication skills are a top asset any safety leader can possess. This is why a well-oiled approach to working relationships and conflict resolution is the bedrock upon which all thriving organizations are built. In this session, Allan will guide safety leaders and their teams through interpersonal skills that will build the foundation of mutual respect. If you want to encourage your coworkers to seek out the right answers when your guidance is needed most, this session is for you!
HOP - Safety’s Next Top Model : Human and Organizational Performance
Nobody loves dealing with the aftermath of a safety incident. For safety leaders, it may feel like everybody’s too busy pointing fingers and laying blame instead of focusing on the bigger picture: the finer details of how the accident happened in the first place, instead of who caused it.
Human Organizational Performance is the skill of perspective. In a high-speed chase to get to the truth, important details are often lost or disregarded completely for the sake of fast solutions and recovered losses, leaving many workers spinning out before they even know they’ve lost a tire (or the confidence of their team).
In this session, Allan James Moore will provide the keys to post-incident learning, helping not just safety leaders — but whole teams — reframe unconscious and biased perspective traps in order to become a High Reliability Organization!
Party Crash: How to Ignore Life’s Invite Only Signs
Party Crash Definition:
A metaphor and philosophy for finding a way into the spaces in your career and life that you feel you belong in but have not been invited to and probably never will.
How do we help our team members find their paths? How do we find our own paths? Are we even on the right path? Are we fulfilling our potential? Is there more to us that we are yet to discover? Some hidden talent?
In this keynote presentation, Al shares hilarious stories from his lifelong journey trying to figure what he’s meant to be in life. Through finding his way into jobs in professional soccer, Mandarin interpreting, kindergarten teaching, managing at fortune 500 companies, and even exotic dancing he learned the value of party crashing and found his true path as an inspirational keynote speaker.
Al teaches your audience how they too can harness the power of this party crashing philosophy to accelerate their own career paths, take on bigger challenges, and become inspiring leaders that don’t just buy into your organization’s vision, but help form it!
