Health Hooligan. Physician Artist. Unusual Suspect. These are a few words that have been used to describe Dr. G that encapsulates the creative characteristics allowing him to meld his various vantage points as a renaissance doctor, executive, designer, professor, advisor, entrepreneur, speaker, and technology advocate.
Dr. Gautam Gulati is currently the founder of The Unusual Group, spending much of his time speaking, writing, and advising companies as an industry thought leader and innovator. Most recently he was the Chief Medical Officer and Head of Product Innovation for Physicians Interactive Holdings, where he led a world-class team to ideate, design, build, and deploy disruptive solutions for a health audience. In addition to his executive roles, he serves as an Adjunct Professor of “Medical Innovation and Entrepreneurship” at Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School, sits on numerous company boards, and is speaks at a variety of corporate and inspirational events around the world, including TEDxMidAtlantic.
Over the past 20+ years, Dr. G has been pushing the boundaries both in his professional and personal pursuits to advance meaningful innovation in healthcare. As a product innovation executive, Dr. G believes we can design our way into a world of better health and wellbeing. Using the world as his stage and followers as his amplified voice, Dr. G always asks the uncomfortable questions and seeks the unreasonable answers. With this focused sense of purpose, he has persevered against the odds and inspires a new level of curiosity to make the impossible, possible. Dr. G is currently working on an upcoming book, and resides in Great Falls, VA with his wife and two kids who inspire him with their pure sense of curiosity and wonder.
