Roy Hirshland believes most companies don’t have a strategy problem—they have a story problem.
After more than three decades advising some of the world’s most innovative companies, Roy has seen a pattern: organizations that win aren’t just better operators—they’re better storytellers. They align people faster, move with more conviction, and make clearer decisions because they know exactly who they are and where they’re going.
Roy’s understanding of story started early. He began his career at Procter & Gamble—one of the world’s most respected brand builders—where he learned that the most powerful companies don’t just sell products; they tell stories that people believe, remember, and act on.
Today, as an executive at publicly traded real estate firm Savills, Roy works at the center of growth, leadership, and transformation—helping companies navigate high-stakes decisions where clarity, alignment, and communication determine success. Before Savills, he founded and led San Francisco/New York/Boston based T3 Advisors, building it into a trusted global partner for innovative companies during periods of rapid growth and change. He successfully sold T3 in 2021.
Across a real estate career spanning millions square feet of global decisions, Roy has learned that space is never just space—it’s a reflection of a company’s ambition, culture, and story. And when that story isn’t clear, execution breaks down.
That’s where Roy’s work with leadership teams begins.
He helps leaders and teams sharpen their narrative, align teams, and deliver presentations that actually move people—whether they’re pitching customers, investors, driving internal change, or defining the future of their organization. He doesn’t treat storytelling as a soft skill—he reframes it as a leadership discipline.
One that determines whether strategies gain traction—or stall.
Roy’s work has earned recognition as an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year where he continues today as an EOY judge, and a Boston Business Journal “40 Under 40” leader. He has served on corporate boards, chaired nonprofit organizations, and continues to advise leaders shaping the future of their industries. Roy is a frequent speaker on a variety of topics from leadership, storytelling and the future of workplace and culture.
In his talks and advisory work, Roy challenges leaders to confront a simple but uncomfortable truth:
If your story isn’t clear, your strategy won’t land.
And if your strategy doesn’t land, nothing else matters.
