Tracy Ann Palmer Speaker Biography

Some leaders teach resilience. Tracy-Ann Palmer has lived it, led through it, and built a career helping others turn adversity into extraordinary achievement.

Known as TAP, Tracy-Ann Palmer is an award-winning global business executive, entrepreneur, keynote speaker, bestselling author, Billboard-charting recording artist, and Kindness Ambassador for Kindness Worldwide and the ROKindness global platform. Her remarkable journey spans continents, industries, and some of life’s most formidable challenges.

Born in war-torn Zimbabwe, TAP experienced the realities of conflict, loss, and displacement before immigrating to South Africa. Before turning 21, she survived a near-fatal act of domestic violence—an experience that profoundly shaped her understanding of courage, human potential, and the extraordinary impact one person can have on another’s life.

But TAP’s story is not simply one of survival. It is about refusing to allow circumstances to define the boundaries of what is possible.
At 27, she moved to the United States and began building an extraordinary career in business and technology. Over more than 25 years, she has held senior executive leadership positions across globally recognized organizations, including VMware, Salesforce, Cisco, Amazon Web Services, Rackspace, and Riverbed. Her career encompasses business transformation, global partnerships, channel strategy, revenue growth, and organizational leadership.

Recognized among the technology industry’s most influential women and executives, TAP’s honors include a Stevie Award, three consecutive CRN Power 100 recognitions, CRN Executive Mentor of the Year, CRN Inclusive Channel Leader, and recognition among Channel Futures’ leading cloud executives.

Yet her greatest measure of success is not the titles she has held, but the people and possibilities she has helped develop.

In 2008, TAP founded We Build Character, a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to leadership development and mentoring. As an executive coach, mentor, and leadership advocate, she challenges individuals and organizations to recognize that leadership is not defined solely by authority or achievement, but by the character, courage, and responsibility demonstrated along the way.

Her commitment to creating meaningful human impact extends beyond the boardroom.

As a Kindness Ambassador for Kindness Worldwide and the global ROKindness platform, TAP champions the transformative power of kindness and the ripple effect of individual action. Her original song Ripple serves as the anthem for the Kindness Worldwide documentary For Such a Time as This, which features her personal story and has received 20 award nominations. The film explores how acts of kindness can change lives, strengthen communities, and create an impact far beyond the moment in which they occur.

For TAP, this mission is profoundly personal. She knows firsthand that a single act of courage and compassion can change the course of someone’s life.

She is also the author of The Leadership Navigator: Chart Your Course to Leadership Mastery, co-host of the Leadership Moments podcast, and creator of leadership experiences designed to help people challenge limiting assumptions, navigate uncertainty, and build the confidence to move forward.

Never content to remain within conventional boundaries, TAP has built a parallel career as a recording artist and songwriter. Through music, storytelling, and powerful live experiences, she gives voice to the human experiences that connect us—courage, identity, struggle, kindness, and the determination to keep moving forward.

Her keynote presentations draw from this uncommon intersection of lived adversity, global executive leadership, neuroscience-informed coaching, philanthropy, and creative expression.

With a distinctive blend of candor, humor, executive insight, and compelling storytelling, TAP challenges audiences to confront the invisible barriers that restrict their thinking, leadership, and potential. Her presentations go beyond momentary motivation, equipping individuals and organizations with practical perspectives for leading through change, strengthening resilience, and creating meaningful impact.

Whether addressing senior executives, emerging leaders, global conferences, or organizations navigating transformation, TAP delivers a message that is as relevant to the boardroom as it is to the human spirit:

Your circumstances may shape your story. They do not have to determine its ending.

TAP doesn’t simply challenge audiences to think differently. She challenges them to lead differently, act courageously, and recognize that the decisions they make today can create a ripple of impact for generations to come.

Tracy-Ann is one of the brightest, most positive and most productive people I have known. She takes on incredibly huge tasks and responsibilities and invariably drives them to success. She is a person you can count on 100% of the time and is positively delightful – a brilliant spot wherever she goes, whatever she’s doing!

“After personally working with Tracy-Ann in the Rise Program, a program that focuses on leadership growth, I began to learn that leadership is much more than having a plan and following methodologies. The structure and methodologies we execute are only as powerful as the engine that drives them, a strong network of support and the human spirit. After recently attending a major technology event in Detroit that was filled with discussions of evolving technology and strategies, it wasn’t clicking until Tracy-Ann spoke about overcoming adversity that I realized the biggest challenges in my life and career weren’t my understanding of technology – they were understanding myself. It truly inspired me to take a hard look at what makes me passionate as a leader and to working on becoming the person I wanted to be, rather than focus on the obstacles and excuses that I was allowing to block my path to success.”
