Born and raised among Northern California's expansive and abundant farmlands, Erinn Valencich is used to broad horizons and infinite possibilities.
"I grew up on a ranch outside Sacramento," Erinn Valencich explains. "My grandfather had a background in fine cabinetry; I grew up making doll furniture out of his scrap wood! My father had studied with Frank Lloyd Wright. We were a very creative family."
That early exposure to home design launched Erinn Valencich on a professional journey that has made her one of the most busy and versatile designers working today, and allowed her to build a business with no limits in sight.
Erinn Valencich began her career working with Susie Coelho, assisting the lifestyle guru with a number of projects, including two bestselling books. In her six years working with Coelho, Erinn Valencich worked on dozens of projects, and learned the business of style. This business acumen combined with Valencich's own great taste and high-spirited style is the basis of her growing success. She became a master of presentation, creating beautiful environments and entertaining effortlessly.
Her taste and passion for fine living, as well as her ebullient personality led to appearances on The View, Extra!, and FLN. Erinn Valencich has hosted several one hour specials for HGTV including: designing Jewel's ranch home in Texas, "25 Great Holiday Ideas," "Decked for the Holidays," "Light it Up!" and "Fantasy Wedding in a Week" in addition to being seen on as a tastemaker on E! and Access Hollywood. Erinn Valencich has her own television series in development and is writing her first book--a do-it-yourself guide to decorating. In 2010, Erinn Valencich partnered with Quick-Step to launch their new line of flooring, with a dedicated website full of her style tips and decorating know-how, www.QuickStepStyle.com. She has worked with TiVo and TJ Maxx on media tours to share her expertise on smart shopping and budget decorating tips.
In 2005, she launched Erinn V Design Group, a multi-faceted umbrella for her multiplicity of design projects. In five years, Erinn Valencich has built a dynamic and in-demand design practice, designing for private clients in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York, ranging in size and character from a urbane pied-a-terre in the Bay Area to a Bel Air mansion.
Online her presence is growing. Erinn Valencich can be seen as the resident decorating-expert on eHow.com, which receives 50 million hits per month and is the #1 site in Home and Garden. She blogs for Decorati.com as well as her own blog, Erinn V Style. Her kitchen and bath webisodes on Kohler.com give homeowners helpful advice and information for remodeling and she is the color-expert for Organize.com. Her work is regularly featured in the pages of major shelter publications like House Beautiful, HOME, Budget Decorating, Ty Pennington at Home, USA Today, LA Times, and many others.
In addition to her residential work, Erinn Valencich has also designed a VIP lounge for Extra! on Oscar night at the Le Meridien in Beverly Hills, decorated Antonio Sabato Jr.'s home with crystals, candles and frosted flowers for an enchanted family Christmas, designed an imaginative, jungle-themed nursery for Emmy-winner actress Jaime Pressly's son, Dezi, and transformed the set of Jennifer Love Hewitt's hit TV series, "Ghost Whisperer" into a paradise of chocolate and roses for a Valentine's Day party.
Eager to accept bigger projects, Erinn Valencich is tapped to design furniture showrooms and a hotel in the Middle East. It's a natural progression for a designer known for creating chic, sexy homes for a hip and glamorous clientele. Ultimately, Erinn Valencich would like to partner with a real estate developer to create an entire community with her style and flair.
"There's a lot of synergy between my life and my work, " she observes. "I love what I do, being excited about going to work every day, finding new products."
It's a natural segue, then, for Erinn Valencich to explore the creation of her own product line. She already designs custom furniture for her clients; she is about to make that level of taste available to a wider audience. She is working on an affordable branded line of furniture home decor products and will eventually add pillows and bedding. "I think you should accessorize your home like your wardrobe, " she says. "Fine details like vases and pillows are the jewelry for the home."
Under Valencich's skillful direction, the Los Angeles based Erinn V Design Group continues to evolve. "My goal as a designer is not just to create beautiful environments, but to help people enrich their lives through style and keep daily living magical. I love creating a space for my clients that encourages them to entertain, to have people over and create memories with family and friends."
