Ryan Vet Speaker Biography

Ryan Vet got his start because people wanted to know why Millennials weren’t buying houses. Millennials weren’t old enough to buy houses yet.

He incorporated his first company at fourteen and spent the next two decades founding and running businesses, leading teams, including international ones, across all five generations in today’s workforce. He has been on the operating end of the problem he now studies.

Today Ryan is a generational futurist, which in practice means he studies how each generation is formed and what that formation is about to cost or gain the leaders responsible for them.

He is the author of five books, two of them USA TODAY bestsellers, and has spoken on four continents. His writing has appeared in Forbes, and he has been quoted in Fast Company, the Financial Times, and USA TODAY.

He is also a Millennial raising three kids under seven, so he doesn’t study generational conflict so much as live in it.

Futureproof
What Changes, What Never Will, and How to Lead Through Both

Generational futurist Ryan Vet shows leaders how to tell temporary shifts from enduring human needs, so they can embrace change, lead across five generations, and stay adaptable without losing what makes their organization human.

The future is not arriving one trend at a time. It is arriving all at once.

Five generations now share the workplace. Artificial intelligence is changing how we think, communicate, create, and make decisions. Cultural expectations are shifting faster than organizational policies can be rewritten. Leaders are being told to move faster, adopt sooner, predict what comes next, and somehow keep everyone moving in the same direction.

Most respond by chasing trends, buying new tools, or trying to predict the next disruption.

But an organization does not become futureproof by correctly guessing everything that will change. It becomes futureproof by understanding what changes, recognizing what repeats, and protecting what people will always need.

What Changes, What Repeats, and What People Always Need
In this provocative and deeply practical keynote, generational futurist Ryan Vet examines how age, culture, technology, economics, communication, and defining moments shape the way each generation sees the world. Using his original Generational Prism and Generational Pendulum frameworks, Ryan moves audiences beyond stereotypes to reveal the patterns underneath generational behavior.

People change because the world around them changes. The language changes. The technology changes. The expectations change. The way trust, respect, authority, and belonging are expressed changes.

But humanness does not.

Every generation wants to be seen. Every generation wants its work to matter. People still need trust, purpose, belonging, dignity, connection, and the opportunity to contribute to something larger than themselves. The expression may change, but the need underneath it remains remarkably consistent.

The Velocity Gap
Ryan then explores the Velocity Gap: the growing distance between the speed at which technology advances and the speed at which human wisdom, culture, and leadership can adapt. Artificial intelligence represents the most dramatic acceleration yet. It can eliminate inefficiency, increase productivity, and expand human capability. It can also remove the effort, struggle, conversation, and experience through which people develop judgment, competence, resilience, and trust.

That creates one of the defining leadership challenges of the next decade: deciding which friction should be removed and which friction must be preserved.

Leading the Human Side of Change
Futureproof leaders do not resist progress. They also do not automate simply because they can. They remove unnecessary friction from systems while protecting the productive friction that forms people. They use technology to amplify human capability rather than replace human responsibility. They create cultures flexible enough to change without becoming untethered from their values.

Ryan brings more than theory to the stage. He speaks as a researcher, practitioner, entrepreneur, and executive leader with more than two decades of experience building organizations and leading people through technological and cultural transformation. He has been speaking about artificial intelligence since 2015, long before generative AI became a boardroom mandate, and his ongoing research explores how technology, culture, and leadership are shaping the generations entering today’s organizations.

This Is Not a Talk About Predicting the Future
This is not a presentation about predicting flying cars, memorizing generational stereotypes, or collecting the latest AI tools.

It is a presentation about becoming the kind of leader, and building the kind of organization, that can remain relevant no matter what comes next.

Because the tools will change.

The generations will change.

The moment will change.

But the responsibility of leadership will remain profoundly human.

Your Audience Will Walk Away Able To:

  • Distinguish age, cultural moment, and generational label to read behavior without leaning on stereotypes
  • Analyze the recurring patterns that predict how people respond to technological, economic, and cultural change
  • Evaluate the Velocity Gap between how fast technology advances and how fast human wisdom and culture can adapt
  • Differentiate unnecessary friction from the formative friction that actually develops capable, resilient people
  • Apply a human-centered leadership framework to communication, culture, AI adoption, and organizational change
  • Build strategies that stay adaptable as tools and expectations change while protecting enduring human needs

From Human Hesitation to AI Acceleration
AI Strategy for Leaders Who Refuse to Fall Behind

Ryan helps leaders cut through the AI hype, overcome organizational resistance, and build a realistic roadmap for adoption — drawn from 15+ years building AI-powered companies.

Your team knows AI is coming. They’re just not sure what to do about it.

Most organizations are stuck in one of two places: paralyzed by fear or drowning in hype. Meanwhile, the leaders who are actually winning with AI aren’t the ones with the biggest budgets — they’re the ones who moved first, moved smart, and brought their people along for the ride.

Ryan Vet isn’t another talking head reading ChatGPT headlines from a slide deck. He’s been building in the AI space for more than 15 years — leading four different AI-powered startups across real estate, learning management, facial recognition, and more. He’s raised the capital, hired the engineers, shipped the products, and navigated the failures. He speaks from the trenches, not the sidelines.

What Makes This Keynote Different
In From Human Hesitation to AI Acceleration, Ryan doesn’t just explain what AI can do. He shows your audience what to do next. He breaks down the practical steps for moving from curiosity to implementation, addresses the human side of digital transformation head-on, and gives leaders a framework for making AI decisions that actually stick.

Whether your audience is a room of C-suite executives weighing their AI strategy or frontline managers wondering how automation will change their Monday morning — Ryan meets them where they are.

This isn’t a technology talk. It’s a leadership talk about technology.

Your audience leaves with clarity, confidence, and a plan they can act on before the next quarterly review.

Your Audience Will Walk Away Able To:

  • Identify where AI can create the most value in your organization — not just the flashiest applications
  • Develop a realistic, phased roadmap for AI adoption your team will actually follow
  • Address the fears and misconceptions keeping your people stuck in the status quo
  • Lead digital transformation with purpose and clarity, not panic and buzzwords

A Familiar Future
Cyclical Patterns That Shape Generations

Ryan reveals the cyclical patterns shaping each generation and shows leaders how understanding the past gives them a strategic advantage for what’s next.

Everyone is trying to predict the future. Ryan reads the patterns that have been telling us all along.

Most leaders plan for the future by extrapolating from the present. But the present is a terrible predictor. The forces that shape generational behavior — culture, technology, economics, communication — don’t move in straight lines. They swing like a pendulum. And if you know how to read the swing, you can see what’s coming before it arrives.

An Entirely New Way to Think About What’s Next
In A Familiar Future, Ryan walks audiences through the seven key levers that have shaped every generation from the Silent Generation to Generation Alpha: religion, sex, politics, education, economics, communication, and technology. Drawing on over a decade of longitudinal research, he shows how these forces create predictable rhythms — rhythms leaders can leverage to make smarter decisions today.

This isn’t trend forecasting. It’s pattern recognition at scale.

Your audience will learn:

Why certain trends keep resurfacing — and what that tells us about the next five years
How to use generational cycles to inform hiring, messaging, and strategic planning
Why the leaders who “saw it coming” weren’t psychic — they were just paying attention to the right signals
For Leaders Who Need More Than Inspiration
A Familiar Future is ideal for annual conferences, corporate leadership summits, and strategic planning retreats where your audience needs a framework, not just a motivational speech. Attendees leave with practical tools they can apply immediately — a clearer understanding of where we’ve been, a common language for where we’re going, and a forward-looking perspective that turns uncertainty into competitive advantage.

Your Audience Will Walk Away Able To:

  • Map the pendulum swings in culture, technology, economics, and communication that repeat across eras
  • Anticipate workforce and marketplace trends before your competitors do
  • Build strategies that hold up as the workforce and consumer landscape evolves
  • Gain a common language for discussing generational dynamics across your organization
